About Miners’ Nine

Our History

The Miners’ Nine sits on land that once powered Iron River’s mining boom. What started as a private club for mine bosses slowly changed as the town did—shifting from an exclusive retreat into a place the whole community could enjoy. Today, the course still carries that history in its fairways, its views, and the stories locals love to share.

The 9-hole layout was designed by Langford & Moreau during golf’s Golden Age, and their work still shows. With multiple tee boxes and thoughtful shaping, our course plays like a full 18 while staying friendly to golfers of all levels. It’s classic Upper Peninsula golf: simple, scenic, and shaped by the land.

But Miners’ Nine is more than just a golf course—it’s a gathering place. The restaurant brings together families, golfers, and tourists for lunch, dinner, takeout, and happy hour in a relaxed lodge-style setting. Events, celebrations, and everyday meals all find a home here.

If you want a place with history, heart, and a true Iron River feel, Miners’ Nine is worth the visit.
